BumGenius Freetime vs BumGenius Elemental/Organic

So they look the same, and they are both bumGenius, they are both all in ones so what is the difference between the bumGenius Freetime and the bumGenius Elemental. The Elemental is the new name for bumGenius organic, no I can't get used to it either!

Similarities:
1. They are both onesize. Using bumGenius' patented 3 x 3 system they both go from 8-40lbs in the weight range.
2. They both come in the same fab range of colours, including the gorgeous new Albert and lovelace prints.

3. They both have the stretchy side butterfly tabs, unique to bumGenius. These are the bits that make these cloth nappies oh so adjustable and fit a wide range of babies.
4. They are both all in ones, so no stuffing! Just open, put on baby, close. Simple as. I can see the freetime taking over the title of dads favourite nappy from the bumGenius pocket very soon!
5. They both perform brilliantly!
6. Both can have additional stuffing layers placed under the flaps for those heavy wetter babies.

Differences:
1. Well the obvious one is that the bumGenius Elemental is made from organic cotton and the bumGenius Freetime is made from microfibre. Natural fibre fans will off course prefer the Elemental. But there are good reasons for going for microfibre as well - the stay dry layer will keep babies bums nice and dry and it is quicker drying.

2. The actual design internally is very different. The organic is one flap, sewn in at both ends whilst the freetime is 2 different flaps. This unique design means much quicker drying. Also it leads to much more flexibility as the flaps can be folded in any combination of ways to suit your little one!

3. That age old debate, popper vs hook and loop nappies is redundant with the bumGenius organic as it only comes in popper form. On that debate, personally I go hook and loop everytime - but thats another blog! bumGenius Freetime comes in both popper and hook and loop closure options.

4. The Freetime just needs one prewash and you are good to go, whilst the bumGenius organic needs 5-10 prewashes to get the absorbency to full levels.
5.The organic has the edge in slimness, especially on newborn setting, but both are up there as the slimmest cloth nappies around.

So which do you prefer? Oh and off course, enter below to win a bumGenius Freetime nappy.

id go with the freetime probably as prefer the idea of 2 flaps and also mf drying fast.. although i do find mf seems to wear out after a while and go stiff

I like the idea of both but the free time is the one I would try first as it will dry quicker. I still will try the elemental too

nothing will steer me away from the elemental - the perfect combination of absorbency, trimness and simplicity !

I'll be going with the Freetime, I have the pockets right now and they are my favourite nappy and I can always guarantee they till last no matter what so having an all-in-one style will be even better, no stuffing (not that I find it a chore, it is quite easy, but being able to throw the nappy straight into the nappy bag when we are in a rush is a big plus!) and I won't have to worry about losing inserts as my washing machine seems to eat them when my other half does the washing! I'll probably get an elemental aswell in one of the new prints, I'll just tell my other half only the elemental has that print to justify it because he won't check haha!

I can't get the organic to work for us. the insert seems to bunch at the front (I have it poppered on the smallest rise) so looking forward to trying the freetime and having a bit more versatility in how I fold the inserts for absorbency.

for ease drying freetime

I'd go for organic poppers. The organic inserts in flips last is ages and hopefully this would as well. Oh and has to be poppers. Whilst aplix may be daddy friendly, it's just too easy for our daughter to undo!

we are an aplix family! and have limited drying space so freetime for us!

Freetime for the simplicity.

I think I'll prefer the elemental, but I am yet to try either. I have a mixture of hook and loop and snaps. I def prefer hook and loop!

Natalie Smith - I create a fold in the insert towards the front, this makes it much neater than just leaving it to bunch up

they look sooo sweet

I think I'll keep my pockets mainly but get a good few freetime aswell. But if I was starting put again I think I'd be more swayed with the free time. I find them 'squarer' in feel compared to v4. Organic takes too long to dry & you have have to keep turning inside layers. Aplix all the way!

I'd say Freetime will be my first order as we don't have a drier and the micro fibre would therefore probably suit us better. :)

In an ideal world I'd prefer a freetime and elemental combined!!

Organic cotton inside, but with the flap out layers of the freetime and with one flap having a stay dry top - perfect! Oh and in snaps everytime!

However if choose between the two I'd go for the organic, takes longer to dry but is super super absorbent and will look sooo cute in lovelace! xx

Elemental here, I love the organic fabric & it lasts overnight with an extra booster underneath. Also love the snaps, application gets caught on his fleece sleepsuits

I haven't tried organic but I would be most inclined to choose freetime as I imagine it would dry much quicker. Lovelace is a particularly beautiful design. The multicoloured opposes look lovely.

Freetime sounds good to me, I really like the new design to allow for quicker drying.......and a bit of free time to go with them would be right up my street

Freetime for me too. I'm a microfibre girl, I need quick drying so these sound ideal. Less time consuming than stuffing the traditional pockets!

I cannot wait for the freetime to arrive in the UK!!! I love the idea of an all in one with a fast drying time. it will also be easier to change my little ones nappy now that she is at that wriggly stage. Im a user of flips and bumgenius organics and I love them all for different reasons!!!

As a busy foster carer I love the freetime, its manproof since its an all in one, no stuffing required, comes in a fab range of colour and the super efficient washing n drying means I may actually get exactly what it says on the tin:freetime :-)

Freetime for me, less prewashes and hubby can't work poppers lol!
I personally prefer the look of the freetime! Although I love my V4's (I don't have any organics) my daughter has recently started at nursery and I have found myself favouring the ease of the AIO's in my stash, as they are so quick and easy to get through the wash and drying cycle and thegirls at nursery get them right every time (unlike some of the others!) so now that BG have brought out an AIO am I very eager to try! I also adore the colours in both the Freetime and the elemental ranges! :0)

Freetime will be perfect for us as we have a small house so like day to dry nappies an also love our Bumgenius they are our work horses :-)

I'd pick the free time, for the stay dry-inner. I used a cotton inner once and it left blisters on my son. I think the rubbing of the wet cotton was to blame

I love my BG pockets, they are perfect. I could'nt think of anything that would need improving in their design, they are incredibly hardwaring and leakproof, however, I also love new things and the Freetime looks fab too. I can see them being a big hit. The new colours are lovely and the Albert print is possibly my favourite of any nappy ever. In short they both are great:)

I prefer the free time...it dries quicker and since we only have indoors clothes horse drying this is much needed.
